Sea Scouts : Volvo Ocean Race

As part of the Volvo Ocean race in Galway the Sea Scout and water Activities team will be helping at the event along with local Scouts.

We will be Running activities for Scouts at the Stand from 10 Am to 1Pm on Sunday May 31.in the Race Village.

These activities are based on the Programme supported by Volvo , World Scout Organisation and UN See : http://www.environmentrace.org

Scouts will be able to take part in activities u11 , u14, over 14 brackets. There will be prizes on the day and 2 Places on a Sailing trip on Lord Rank at a later date also to be won. We need as many scouts to come along that day as possible to take part in the activities and also Visit the Race village etc

If Leaders intend to bring scouts to this event can you please ask them to let us know approx numbers and times they would be arriving as we will probably run each activity on the hour between 10 – 1.

If you are interested in Sailing on Tall Ships or doing Sail training offshore we will be working with Ocean Youth Trust to show scouts and leaders the opportunities they have available which Scouts and leaders may be interested in during the year. We will have information about this at our stand as well as general information on Sea Scouting and water activities.. If you want to plan anything with the Sailing programme we will have people on hand who can advise or discuss the options available also.
