Following yesterday’s Government of Ireland announcements outlining the revised government guidelines applicable within ROI, Scouting Ireland can confirm the following;
Scout groups can continue with camping and outdoor activities (including day activities) provided groups are 15 people or less and there is full adherence with all Covid-19 protocols. National scout centres have been accepting camping bookings in groups of 15 or less and will continue with this cautious approach.
The Family Camping Initiative can continue all the three National Scout centres and the two local sites as these groups are family households.
The reduction in the number of people permitted at indoor meetings will be outlined in Scouting Ireland’s updated roadmap. Indoor meetings must not exceed six people, therefore we recommend groups continue with outdoor or online meetings.
We are awaiting the latest update from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs for the youth sector in order to fully update the Scouting Ireland Roadmap. We are working to have this update out to all ASAP.
