On Founders' Day and Thinking Day, 22nd February, Scouts and Guides around the World celebrate the birthdays of the Movement's founders, Robert and Olave Baden-Powell. Creating a BetterWorld is at the very heart of the Scout movement. On Founders' Day, let’s remember how we can take action and uphold our Scouting Values, to make the world a better place. In the words of B.-P.,‘try and leave the world a little better than we found it’!
Small actions make a big impact, especially when we work together. Below are some ideas to get involved and Scout for a Better World;
1. Pick up litter around where you live.
2. Donate some non-perishable food items.
3. Brainstorm five ways to make your daily routine more eco-friendly.
4. Plant some Bee-friendly flowers in your garden.
5. Hang a bird feeder in your garden.
6. Write a thank-you note to someone important in your life.
7. Take time to learn about a culture that’s different from your own.
8. Learn to say “Hello”, “Thank You” and “Please” in a variety of languages.
9. Commit to performing a Random Act of Kindness every day for a week.
10. Share your community projects on Better World to inspire your Scouting community.
