⚔️ Venture Sword 2023 ⚔️
Venture crews from around the country battled the non-stop rain all weekend in Larch Hill in order to showcase their incredible scouting skills at this year's National Venture Sword.
Each crew had to erect a full site, partake in different programme bases including first aid, foraging, shelter building, fire lighting and turnip carving. Then after taking a battering from the rain all day they had to go back to their sites and cook up a three course meal of five star quality. With whatever energy they could muster after all of that they then performed sketches in front of their fellow ventures and all the staff. A log was also kept by them over the whole weekend.
All of this was marked and in the end 13th Wexford Clonard came out on top with 34th/161st Balbriggan coming in second and 94th Dublin Walkinstown in third place. The standard across the board from all crews was exceptional.
Massive congratulations to all the Ventures who braved the elements and did incredible work all weekend. A huge thank you to Camp Chief Shane Richardson, National Venture Team Lead Aoife Fricker, Sub Camp Chief Shane Whelan and all the Scouters and Rovers who worked tirelessly all weekend to bring the event together.
