The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is an international Scout event that takes place every 4 years with participants from all over the world. The next jamboree will be held in Poland in 2027 and Scouting Ireland will once again be organising a contingent to prepare for and attend the jamboree together.
A contingent is made up of Scout Troops, IST (International Service Team), Troop Leaders and a Contingent Management Team. If you’re aged 14-17 during the jamboree, you would attend as a participant – troops are made up of 36 Scouts with 4 adult leaders. If you’re over 18, you can join as a Troop Leader, as an IST (jamboree staff) or on the CMT. This webpage will be updated as registration for each group opens.
For the World Scout Jamboree in 2027, our Contingent Leader is Rory Nevin. You can read more about him below.
I’m delighted to have been appointed as Contingent Leader for the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland, 2027. I have been lucky enough to attend three world jamborees in Japan, North America and South Korea. I hold these memories incredibly closely and attribute a lot of who I am today to these experiences in Scouting. I’m excited to get to work recruiting and preparing the Irish Contingent, helping to shape unforgettable adventures for our participants. Previously in Scouting Ireland I’ve held roles in communications, programme development and event management. Professionally, I’m a project manager in a large financial organisation and have experience across communications, risk management and financial planning in complex multi-year programmes.
The Jamboree website, with more information, is available here.
