There are a number of teams currently in the Programme Services Department. There is a team for each section, each event and for a specific purpose related to Programme.
Please note, the work of these teams is ongoing and not specific to a particular project.
Currently, we are looking for members for the teams listed below:
Sections
· Beavers
· Cubs
· Scouts
· Ventures
· Rovers
Events
· Patrols in Action
· Pride Event 2024
Specific Purpose
· Chief Scout Award Support
· Sustainability
· Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
· Better World
If you’re considering joining a team, the first thing to think about is the area of programme that interests you. It’s easier to commit to work and activities you enjoy and are important to you.
The time commitment for each will vary but all include a mix of regular online meetings midweek (usually evenings) and occasional in-person meetings on certain weekends. Each team member can discuss their availability with the Team Lead. Some members have more availability than others and so can take on more tasks or be more involved.
The Pride Event and Patrols in Action are focused on specific events happening on identified dates, so those teams will get busier closer to the event date.
Others such as Sustainability or Better World are focused on developing and supporting certain programme ideas so might not have 'busy' times of the year but could mean some extra work outside organised meetings.
Please note, the work of these teams is ongoing and not specific to a particular project.
If you have any other questions, please let us know at programmeservices@scouts.ie. If you are interested in joining a team, complete this form and we will contact you with the next steps.
