Thank you so much to everyone who came up to say hello at events over the past few weeks! It was brilliant meeting so many of you, chatting about your ideas, and sharing resources and games. We loved hearing your enthusiasm and seeing the amazing project applications and reports coming in — keep them coming!
Some inspiring project ideas that were brainstormed include:
🌱 Creating a pocket forest – Transform a small space into a thriving mini-ecosystem by planting native trees and shrubs. Great for biodiversity and a peaceful Scout space!
🐞 Building bug hotels– Give pollinators and insects a safe home! Use natural or recycled materials to support local ecosystems and learn about the role bugs play in our environment.
🧹 Organising litter clean-ups – Whether it’s in your local park, beach, or neighbourhood, everybit of rubbish collected helps create a cleaner, safer world for everyone.
🤝 Connecting with isolated members of the community – Write letters, host intergenerational events, or create care packages. Small acts of kindness go a long way in tackling loneliness and building community spirit.
These are just a few examples — the possibilities are endless, and every idea has an impact.
Better World is your platform to access resources, upload project applications and reports, and work toward earning the Better World badge — all while making a real difference in people, planet, and peace. It’s also a great way to work toward your Special Interest Badges and develop your SPICES.
This initiative is all about youth leadership and showing what it means to be a Scout today.
