This past weekend saw almost 100 local Youth Reps from around Ireland come together at the National Youth Forum in Limerick.
Getting stuck into workshops like the Programme Review, Safe from Harm programme, Patrols in Action and more, the Youth Reps spent time debating and planning for the future of Scouting Ireland. There were plenty of ideas and suggestions to make Scouting Ireland more inclusive and youth led, with senior volunteers and staff members in attendance to hear directly from the youth members.
On Sunday, we were delighted to welcome our Chief Scout to each of the section fora, where motions were proposed and discussed about what the next group of National Youth Reps should work on during their term.
Then, it was time for the elections where nominees made a speech to outline their plans and vision for the role, before each section elected their National Youth Reps for the coming year. It was a fantastic weekend, and a true display of young people getting involved in steering their organisation forward.
A word of thanks must go to the rep facilitator team, and the outgoing reps who all worked so hard to ensure the weekend was a success!
