PEAK is a week-long training adventure for Scouts and Ventures run over Easter week (18th April to 25th April 2025) in Gartan Outdoor Education Centre in Donegal.
For any Scout / Venture between the ages of 14 and 17 with hiking experience who wish to be challenged, this is a unique opportunity. It is an intense roller coaster of a week; from Good Friday to the following Friday, participants are immersed in a week of challenge and adventure with an emphasis on navigation and expedition training.
The week culminates in a multiday expedition in the heart of the Donegal mountains, with participants completing a 30km wild country hike carrying all of the required equipment on their backs. Every other aspect of the week builds towards this: team building, leadership, navigation, orienteering, initiative exercises, route planning, mountain skills …
PEAK expands upon the Sionnach / MPC adventures and offers an additional challenge and thrill for potential leaders of the future. Teamwork, self-reliance, problem solving, a spectacular setting facilitated by experienced and enthused staff all contribute to a unique personal development experience. PEAK veterans have more than just a deserved reputation; they are the ones who take the initiative, the ones willing to take the lead, willing to share their skills with others.
