The Southern Province Scout Summit was held in the Charleville Park Hotel County Cork last weekend, the co defence was attended by a large number of Youth Representatives and Scouters.
Guest speakers at the event included Eoin, The Chief Scout, our CEO Sean Sheehan, members of our Board , the structural review team, and the Provincial Commissioner Ursula Cosgrove. Workshops were held on “Scouting 2050” in which delegates were invited to contribute their views to the structural review team’s ongoing work, there was also workshops held on “scouting challenges & solutions” a very interactive style workshop ran by the PMST team which got some great reviews.
Other workshops included Scouter wellbeing and safeguarding ran by Steven Maclean Safeguarding Manager, and an international workshop on how to camp abroad was run by International Commissioner Máire Fitzgerald.
The Provincial Youth reps held a “youth cafe” style workshop during lunch break and there was a market hall area of stands featuring the scout shop, national and network campsites , Programme team, Jamboreet Team and our Local ETBs.
A great scouting day out enjoyed by all who attended!
