Air activities themed event for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and Rovers.
Scouting Ireland in partnership with the Irish Air Corps are running SPECTRE 2025 to allow SI youth members experience the Irish Military Aviation Sector in conjunction with elements from the Air adventure skill within the One Programme.
Below is a guide in what to expect at SPECTRE 2025.
Full details will be provided to booked participants closer to the time but the outline of the event is designed around the stages of the Air Activities Adventure Skill.
1. Beavers/ Cubs: SAT 28th June 0930-1630 €30 per youth member
- Includes program ( model aircraft building, kite building, drone flying' planetarium and much more), badge, hot dog /drink.
2. : Scouts/Ventures: Sat 28th 1000 - Sun 29 June 1300 €60 per youth member
- Includes badge and program (drone flying, aircraft fire exercise, weapons display, air traffic control and more). Overnight lightweight camping, fully catered event with central catering.
3. Rovers: Sat 28th June 1000-1630 €30 per youth member
- Includes lunch and program (Flight Simulator, Night Vision Goggle Exercise, Military display and more)
Scouters attending with sections (any section) €10 including badge and relevant meals with youth members.
Note:
1. Some program elements are limited in capacity and the event program may not be identical for all participants. The ethos of the event is to allow youth members to be as hands on as possible so we ask for your understanding as we try to manage numbers to ensure hands on youth participation.
2. This event can only be attended through your scout group. It is not possible for individual youth members to attend without their group scouters. It is not possible for non-vetted parents or other adults to attend this event. A list of scouters will be confirmed with the relevant group leader before the event and ONLY these named individuals can attend on the day. We are being granted access to a secure location and we ask you to assist us in respecting both internal SI safeguarding and Air Corps security guidance.
