Eoin O'Shea

Eoin joined the board of Scouting Ireland in the latter part of 2023.

Eoin was, some years ago, deeply involved in Scouting, as a Cub Scout, a Scout, a Venturer, and a Leader. In the later years of his involvement Eoin was a member of The National Scouting Team.

He stepped back some years ago, to allow him devote more time to personal and career focused activities, but has always remained an advocate for, and a friend of Scouting as well as maintaining some of the valued bonds forged during his time Scouting.

Professionally Eoin has enjoyed a successful career, spanning over 35 years, in the Financial Services Industry, working across many sectors including Branch Banking, Consumer Lending, Business Banking, Corporate & Real Estate Finance and Program Management, based in various locations in The Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the UK.

In 2022 Eoin made the decision to step back from his busy role as a Senior Manager with his then employer, and is now engaged in a part-time capacity with a Nationwide (not-for-profit) Community Based Lender, who is focused on Start-Up Businesses and Small & Growing Businesses, as well giving his time to a number of other not-for-profit and non-profit organisations.

Eoin is also The Chairman of The Board Oversight Committee of a large East Midlands based Credit Union where his qualifications and experience are a useful addition to the organisation.

He is also actively involved as a committee member of the local branch of the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society of Ireland.

Finally Eoin is a Special Educator, in UCD's School of Medicine, where as well as his work as a "Patient Educator" he was recently co-opted to join a working group with Panel of Senior Academics and Clinicians, who have been tasked to redesign the Curricula for the Faculty for the next 10 years.
